Bioware

A preserved microbial culture intended for controlled microbiological studies and reference use.
Suitable for culture-method verification, identification workflows, media performance assessment, and laboratory quality control.

Technical Specifications

OrganismBifidobacterium animalis
Material TypeMicrobial Strain
Preservation FormFreeze dried pellet
Morphological CharacteristicsThe colonies measure 0.5-1 mm in diameter, are circular with regular margins, and are opaque. They appear grayish-white on the surface, with a raised center and a smooth texture. The organisms are Gram-positive (G⁺, appearing blue-violet) and rod-shaped (bacilli).
Culture Method① Prepare 1-2 plates as specified above.② Open the vial in a biosafety cabinet, briefly flame the top with an alcohol lamp, and immediately add sterile water to break the seal. Then crush the vial using sterile forceps.③ Aspirate 0.5 mL of sterile water into the freeze-dried vial, fully dissolve the bacterial powder, then transfer approximately 200 µL of the suspension onto each of the two plates and spread evenly.④ Incubate the plates under the specified culture conditions. The strain can be used once growth appears.
